Guiding Goddess and Lunar Horoscope for April 2020

Guiding Goddess and Lunar Horoscope for April 2020

April 2020 shines a light on our need for peace, hope, and balance. It is with the Goddess KUAN YIN we find our center, and embrace the healing of mind, body, and spirit.

Worshiped throughout the world and many cultures, Kuan Yin is the Chinese Goddess of Compassion and Peace.  Her name translates as She Who Hears the Weeping World, and She is known to accept and respond to all prayers and petitions.   She is the calm in the storm, a beacon to the needy, and a perfect introductory Goddess for those new to the path of the Divine Feminine. Her gentleness and mothering energy provides comfort and solace during difficult times, and She is easily approached through chanting, prayer, and meditation.

In Buddhist traditions, Kuan Yin is revered as a bodhisattva: a being of love and compassion who has attained Buddha-hood, but has decided to stay among mortals, teaching and sharing her wisdom until every human being is enlightened. In Her depictions, Kuan Yin sits on a pink lotus, a symbol of peace, balance, and inner alignment. Sometimes She sits on a rock at the seashore, confirming her association with the moon and sea.

In this time of uncertainty, fear, and health concerns, Kuan Yin is the consoling influence which brings peace and hope to our hearts. As a patroness of healers, She is worshiped and invoked to cure all matter of ailments that afflict the mind, heart, body, and spirit. She is often depicted pouring cleansing water referred to as “The Water of Life” from a jar or vase; this image makes for a powerful healing meditation.  Kuan Yin energy is also helpful during therapeutic sessions which aid the release of trauma, heartbreak, and anxiety.

In Her role as the Mother of Compassion, Kuan Yin helps you to open your heart to unconditional self love.  Her gentle and caring nature teaches you to meet your self-judgments with empathy, and the understanding that even when you are at your worst, you are still worthy of love and affection. When you truly at peace within yourself, your energy is bright, confident, magnetic – and you attract the opportunities and people that will bring you happiness. Kuan Yin teaches how to completely embrace those opportunities, to view situations in your life from a space of non-judgment, and how to consciously observe instead of instantly react.

Kuan Yin also embodies fierce compassion, as She wields the sword to cut through delusion and expose the truth. While She cannot change your past karma, She can guide you to a new mind set in order to avoid ‘making the same mistake twice’, and embrace the transformative power of compassion and love.

By centering yourself in compassion Kuan Yin teaches, you center yourself in the peace of your existence.

April 7th  2020: Full Moon in Libra

This Super Pink Moon aligns beautifully with the energy of Kuan Yin. The first Full Moon of Spring, this lunar cycle strives to balance you within the new modus operandi of the world.  The added boost of Libra energy works to bring your thoughts, emotions, and actions into harmony with your richest desires. This is a good time to check-in on your belief system regarding everything from politics to family, and back around again to spirituality and romantic love. Do you still believe and have faith in the ideas you had a month ago, a year ago? Perhaps it’s time for a spring cleaning of the mind.

Emotions and intuition are high during this Full Moon, and with Kuan Yin’s help, you can use these heightened senses to your advantage. Examine your life, and how you interact with the world. Are you as compassionate as you can be? As generous? Are you as forgiving as you can be? Explore if there are any relationships, situations, or beliefs that are causing disharmony and imbalance in your life. Kuan Yin can help you approach these questions with love and softness by centering you within your truest heart.

April 22nd 2020: New Moon in Taurus

The New Moon in Taurus brings forth a need for stability and safety. This is the week to release the habits which no longer serve your highest good, to remove yourself from toxic environments, to transform the relationships and physical surroundings that no longer bring you joy.

In short, the transformation of spring is in full effect.

Let your decisions this week lay the foundation for your increased abundance, prosperity, and peace of mind. The bull energy of the Taurus pushes forward through obstacles, though its strength comes from your sense of self. Your relationships, material belongings, and physical surroundings should represent your truest self, not define it. During this purging and revamping moon, take care to identify your worth by the love you carry, not your bank account or possessions.

Kuan Yin stands with you to implement these life changes in gentle, easy, and truthful ways. Work with this Goddess to improve your quality of life by investing your energy in your comfort and self-expression.
