September 2019 offers the energy of abundant harvest, balance, and inner knowledge, and it is the magick of the Egyptian Goddess Isis which supports us this season.
Isis, Great of Magic, Lady of Words of Power, Veiled One, Greatest of All the Gods…
Isis (also Iset or Auset) is the ancient Egyptian/Kemetic Goddess of magick and healing, and the most well-known deity of the Egyptian pantheon. She is the patroness of women and children, and the honored protector of marriage and vows of love. Osiris, God of the Afterlife is Her consort and their son Horus is the Divine Messenger. Isis uses her wisdom and sorcery to strengthen ancestral bonds, manifest change, and transform the world. She is the longest enduring of Egypt's Goddesses and as Her cult developed, it is thought She absorbed attributes of other deities.
Her worship began in Egypt but spread to many distant lands. Her cults, like her names, were varied and prosperous - extending into the Hellenistic world and Roman Empire and lasting for thousands of years.
As the Goddess of 10,000 Names, Isis has as many attributes and energies. She can be called upon for anything under the sun and moon; however, one of the Goddess’ most prevalent strengths lies in magick and prophecy. Mythology tells of her relationship with Thoth, God of Magick, who councils and teaches the Goddess the mysteries of the universe, and teaches Her the mystic arts and the power of words (mantras, affirmations, naming, speaking things into existence).
The Goddess speaks through visions, words, dreams, and artistic endeavors; She shows how our affect in the external world is created from our inner practice. Through Isis, we learn to embrace magick, and discover how the tools we are supplied with in everyday life – herbs, crystals, oils, words of power – can be applied to change our destinies and fulfill our life purpose.
She is the Queen, the Healer, and many of her messages have to do with such things as how to claim authority over particular situations, and spellcrafting for specific purposes. In Her role as Mother, Isis is the Nurturer and the Nourishing; as Christianity took over the ancient world and turned the temples of Isis into churches, images of the Goddess with Horus in her lap became the Virgin Mary and Jesus.
The arrival of Isis this month signifies a time to come into your personal authority. To embrace and hone your magick. To release your words of power and speak yourself into balance. A time to align yourself with those who love you unconditionally, and with the Divine.
Isis offers you a gift of healing, wisdom, and balance this lunar cycle.
SEPTEMBER 13th 2019: FULL MOON IN PISCES
A Pisces Full Moon can feel a bit emotionally overwhelming – it’s all that elemental water! Creativity, intuitive hits, and lovey-dovey goodness are everywhere, and everyone is feeling the effects. Use this time to express yourself creatively, sensually, emotionally. Your key word is honesty. Do your best to be true in your emotions, in your heart. Come from a place of love in all of your creations.
However, keep your senses sharp, because not all things are as they appear to be. There are so many conversations, so many situations, and so much intuition kicking up it may be hard to find the truth in all the information you’re receiving. Hidden aspects, mixed messages, and false intentions can spring up and surprise you this week.
But, if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.
Start this month getting connected and aligned with Isis in preparation for this lunar cycle. Carrying Isis with you in the weeks leading up and through this Full Moon will be the guiding influence you need. She will help you discern the answers, remove the veils, and keep you centered in love and self-authority. Find or write a prayer to the Goddess that keeps you in alignment with Her magick and connected to Her energy. Daily meditation on Her image or lighting a white tealight candle for Her is also very effective.
SEPTEMBER 23rd 2019: AUTUMN EQUINOX
The Harvest, day and night in equal balance. It’s time to fill your storehouses in preparation for the winter. This is a day of gratitude, preservation, reflection, preparation, and abundance. What good have you accomplished this year? What not-so-good? Is there more for you to do?
At this point of the cycle we are reminded to give thanks for duality of our being: the light and the dark, the active and the passive, the love and the fears. It is Autumn where we begin to harvest and store our unconditional love of self, as the strength of self-knowing is what will carry us through the coming winter months.
SEPTEMBER 28th 2019: NEW MOON IN LIBRA
Here’s that need for balance this month coming into play again.
This New Moon in Libra calls for us to balance our creative pursuits with our business endeavors. Our need for company with our need for solitude. Our spiritual life with our physical world life.
The energy here calls for a return to your base instincts, to give your emotions and desires a bit of room to breathe freely. Old schedules and habits may now feel constrictive and overbearing. It’s a new season, a new lunar cycle, and every moment you are becoming a new you. Be present. What is it you need to be focusing on, feeling, experiencing, right now in this present moment?
Trust your inner processes and don’t be afraid to ask for advice from elders and ancestors – living or in spirit realm. There is a wealth of wisdom waiting for you to ask the right question. In the same vein, be prepared and patient with those asking help of you. They are in need, and will benefit from the compassion you show.
New Moon in Libra is an auspicious time to work with Isis on intuitive and divination practices. Break out your cards, your crystals, your oils and sprays. Ask the Goddess to give you a peek behind the veil, so that you may know how to best help yourself as well as those in need of your assistance.
